Initial Trivets

Hi again!  I was looking through some old photos on my SD card and realized I never posted about this little project!  I took some clues from Amy McCabe's coaster project (http://svgcuts.com/blog/2012/03/12/irish-coasters-svg-amy-mccabe/) and made a trivet wedding gift for my cousin and his new wife!  I also made one for myself  because I thought it turned out great.

I took a regular old tile and cut everything out on vinyl, stuck it on the tile and covered the whole thing with a couple of coats of varnish to seal it.  I also cut a square out of a roll of cork and hot glued it to the back to protect whatever surface it sits on from scratches.  So cute and makes a great gift!

Luggage Tags!

Hello again!  In preparation for our Hawaii trip (which is over now, so sad!) I had made luggage tags for all the people in our little traveling party!  I also made one for the son of one of the couples that went with us who went to stay with his grandma for the week.  I used files from svgcuts.com and letteringdelights.com to make them.  Hope you like them!

Aaaaack, I'm such a slacker!

My blog posts are sporadic at best, practically non-existent at worst so maybe if I keep them short and sweet I will feel better about tackling them more often.  It's highly possible that I overthink it a little.  I wanted to share the seashell bouquet that I made for our vow renewal in Hawaii coming up in July!  Only 12 more days!  I had seen them online but couldn't quite get any clear instructions so I kind of had to wing it.  Since I only have a couple of followers (God bless all of ya!) I won't bore you with everything I did, but if anyone ever reads this and does want to know, I'll be glad to share!  Without further ado, here it is!  Mahalo and aloha!

Cards for Emily

Hi again!  I wanted to share something today that I saw on Dustin Pike's blog about a little girl named Emily.  She is a 7 year old who has been battling leukemia since before December 2011.  Dustin offered a digital stamp set on his blog to anyone who would make a card for Emily.  All you have to do is send him an email and he'll send you one of the stamps from the set to make your card and after the card is done, link it up on his blog and he'll send you the rest of the set!  It's a great deal and a wonderful way to help cheer up a little girl who probably really needs it!  Dustin's blog is here and you can read about Emily here!  Here is the card I made using one of the digital stamps and a wrapped card file from svgcuts.com!

I can't wait to send it to her!  Have a great day! :)

Cute little carrots!

Ack, I have GOT to start writing more in this thing...I'm so slack.  I just wanted to share this little crate full of carrots that I made using files from svgcuts.com. The carrots are full of candy for the kids that work for me as a little Easter treat!

Fishy Card

This is a card I made for a second challenge...I'm on a freakin' roll!  It's a card for a Fishy/Pirate themed challenge at Getting Cricky with K Andrew.  Sorry the quality is crappy...it's just so much easier to take a picture with my phone and have it automatically send to my computer than to use a camera and have to actually...do stuff.  I used a card base from SVGcuts Everyday Cards and altered it a little so that it actually folds and looks like an aquarium.  It's hard to tell from the picture but pretty much everything sparkles...either with glitter paper or Stickles.  I used a dollar stamp from Michael's and wha-bam!  Thanks for looking (and pretty please follow my blog!)!

My first challenge!

I made a card to enter in my first ever card challenge!  Most of the time I have a hard time deciding what to do when I actually sit down to fiddle with my crafty stuff so when I saw challenges posted on some blogs, I figured that was a great way to get a starting point.  Here is my first one...it is for the Buttons challenge on Meljen's blog!
The card base is from an SVGcuts kit called Everyday Cards and the stamp is colored with colored pencils.  The buttons are courtesy of my grandmother-in-law and I used a little bit of twine and a dollar stamp from Michael's.  I also accented using a glitter pen (which I LOVE) and inked around the edges of pretty much everything.  Hooray for my first try!!

Second time around...

Okay, so my blogging premiere didn't quite work out the way I thought (in that I didn't actually DO it) so I'm giving it another go.  Hopefully this time I'll follow through...and get some followers!
Even though Valentine's Day has come and gone, I wanted to share the cute and simple card I made for my husband, the gun nut.
I apologize for the horrendous quality of the photo to anyone who may ever read this, but it was the best one to show off the metallic slides that I used a glitter pen to make.  I used some gun silhouette svgs I found on a google search and the smoke whisps were in the shapes library of ecal...just mirrored one and put them together to make a heart.  I inked the edges, added some twine and a "Love you" brad to it and that was it!  I don't like to girly up cards for men, lest I de-macho them in front of someone else.  I was super proud of the guns though, it's not that easy to find something crafty with a gun, believe it or not!

Hopefully I'll be making some more posts because I want to start doing some challenges that other people have on their blog.  So if you actually are reading this, do a girl a solid and follow me so I feel better.  :)
